Easter afternoon

Sunday, March 31, 2013

When we got home from brunch, the thing the boys were most excited about was playing with the bubble gum ball machine-full of jelly beans.  You need a quarter to get any treats, and they didn’t have any, so there was a lot of shaking the machine going on.imageimageimageimageWe played outside, imageimageimageand then we headed in for long Easter naps.  It was such a wonderful day!  Alleluia!  He is Risen!

Meeting the Easter Bunny

Before heading up to brunch, the boys got to meet the Easter Bunny.  Sam liked him this year!imageAfter Jack thanked the EB for his basket of goodies, he said to me, “Mom, I know that’s not the real Easter Bunny cuz I heard him talk.  That’s just a person in there.  The real Easter Bunny must be taking a nap somewhere.”  Oh, goodness!image

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

The LORD is Risen, indeed!  Alleluia!imageWelcome, happy morning!  Happy Easter!image

Waking up on Easter morning

It’s Easter morning!!  Alleluia!  The boys were sure the Easter Bunny had stopped by last night, so they ran down the hall to check it out.imageSure enough!imageimageimageimageimageNow let’s get ready for church-my favorite service of the year!

Good Friday afternoon at the Lees

Friday, March 29, 2013

We headed over to the Lees this afternoon to be with friends this Good Friday.  Clark hid about 250 eggs for these eager hunters, and they were good!imageimageimageimageimageThis was the only egg that Sam hunted for, imageimagebut Jack was hunting enough for the both of them!imageimageCheck out that haul!  I removed and rehid a ton of these, but then he went and hunted all over again!imageWe dyed eggs, too, but these boys were too interested in the goodies inside the eggs to step away from the basket!imageimageimageWe had a really great time!  Thanks for hosting, Kaki and Patrick!

Dying our eggs

Thursday, March 28, 2013

We dyed our eggs today, and we used brown ones this year.  I missed the bright colors, but these earthy ones were pretty, too!  Jack did a great job placing the eggs on the dye and stirring them around.  Sam, he mostly tossed them in Bozo the Clown style, but he got the hang of it!imageimageimageimageimageimageWe used lemon juice in our cups, and Sam tasted it.  Clearly he liked it!  Oh, goodness!imageimageimage

EDS Egg Hunt

Jack had his school Easter Egg Hunt today, and it was so great!  I volunteered to hide some eggs-the kind neighbor’s yard was covered!  As we waited for the kids to arrive, I was thinking back on all the egg hunts and Easter festivities in Texas.  I loved those!!

When the kids got there, they lined up, and we could hardly say “Go!”, they were so ready!  I was so excited to watch Jack run around and scoop some up!  He started out so fast that my pictures are blurry!imageAfter the obvious ones in the yard, he started checking out all the tricky spots.imageimageimageHe and Mac compared their loot and seemed to decide they were pleased!imageOh, goodness was that fun!  For our t-tiny and for me!  Another mommy dream come true!
