Halloween 2013.  What a fun day!

We started out with a Halloween Parade at Eastminster for Jack.  Man is it precious seeing all those babies marching in their costumes!  And what a mommy moment for me.  I can remember being in the parade, and now I’m so blessed to be able to watch my own baby march.  Love it!imageimageimageThe boys were so excited to go Trick-or-Treating!  Well, Jack was, and Sam was because his big brother was!imageimageimageimageimageWhat fun!  We made it to a good handful of houses within a few blocks of out house and then headed back home.  Jack probably could’ve gone to more, but Sam was ready-he didn’t quite get the ‘let’s go to the next house and say Trick-or-Treat again’ thing.  He preferred the ‘let me eat all the candy in my pumpkin right here on the sidewalk’ thing! :)

When we got home, we sat on the front porch, passing out candy, and of course eating our fair share, too!  They were shouting, “Trick-or-Treat, here!  Candy, here!  Come and get it!” And then when they passed it out, they gave a big “Happy Halloween!” to the sweet trick-or-treaters!imageSuch a sweet night!

Pumpkin carving night

Tonight was our carving night, and I thought we (Mark!) had our work cut out for us!  Jack picked one of the biggest pumpkins in the patch!  But Mark took care of it in no time, and the boys had fun getting out the goop.  imageAll done!image

Sam’s surgery

Monday, October 21, 2013

Praise God, it was a short, uneventful, successful surgery!  Sam was taken back, the surgery happened, the surgeon came to give us the great report, and then we were back with him in recovery all in about 45 minutes.  We had to go back one at a time until we got to a recovery room, so Mark went first.  He stayed with him for about twenty minutes, and then we switched.  Oh, that boy.  It was so sweet to just rub his little head and sing to him.  I prayed over him, and when I said Amen, he did, too.  I teared up.  And then he said, “I not hungry, mommy.”  Sweet boy!image

We were home by ten, and he was doing great!  He was clearly still under the effects of the medicine, but doing great!  We cuddled big time, and he asked for an apple.image

We wondered what he would think without the “squishy” on his belly button, and other than playing with the bandage a bit, he hasn’t really noticed a thing!  Oh, but look at those groggy eyes!imageThanks be to God for the successful surgery and quick recovery!

The Fair

Jack and I went to the Fair during Sam’s nap today-a little one on one time for my t-tiny!  We had so much fun!imageimageimage

Our October playground

The pumpkin patch.  We just love the pumpkin patch!  We visited after church today, and I told them if they gave me a few good smiles they could climb a tree.  What a deal!imageJack’s over it here, but Sam’s smiles crack me up!imageAnd then the climbing.  Sam can do anything his big brother can, or he’ll at least try!  I was pretty proud of him!imageimageBefore we left, they played the, “Sam, I bet you can’t make me laugh!” game.  They each tried hard, imagebut I’m glad Sam won!  That laugh-oh, I melt!  I can hear it just looking at these pictures.imageBlessed to be these boys’ momma, and thankful for our October playground!image

Sam’s belly

Sam’s having his umbilical hernia repaired tomorrow.  It’s a simple outpatient surgery and something we knew he had coming, but it’s a little bittersweet.  This is the way God made him and how we’ve always known him.  I know we’ll love his new belly button just the same, but I know we’ll miss the squishy one he was born with!imageimageimage

Zeta Beach Reunion

Monday, October 14, 2013

Wow, it’s been TEN YEARS since we graduated!  Can’t believe that!  We decided that it was beyond time that our class got together again, and it was so fun!  We stayed at Jen’s beach house on Isle of Palms, so we were all able to be together.  We celebrated birthdays, watched old rush videos, looked at old pictures, ate yummy food, and spent great time with great, lifetime friends!  So thankful for these girls!imageimageimageimageimageimage
