Jack has decided that he’s not into wearing socks right now.  He wants to do anything that his daddy does, so we know where this new thing came from! And Sam, he’s loving his feet right now!  I love that every time he sees them, it’s like a brand new toy!  He’s so funny!

Dying our eggs

In keeping with tradition, we dyed our eggs today-outside of course!The package said to add vinegar or lemon juice for more vibrant colored eggs, so that’s what I did.  What we didn’t do is leave the eggs in the dye for any length of time!  Each egg got a few dips in each color and then landed in whichever cup was last in line!Oops!  One down!  It was the orange one that got it last year, too!  (If you click the last year link, yes, I realize he was in desperate need of a hair cut!  He got his first one later that month!)I love how they turned out!

The Wiersma Family Baptismal Gown

Just like his big brother, Sam will be baptized on Easter Sunday. Also just like his big brother, he'll be wearing our family gown. Since he's older than most that have worn it, we tried it on just to be sure he'd also have the pleasure. And believe me, if it didn't fit, he'd still be wearing it!! My great grandmother, Madge Woudenburg, made the gown by hand for her grandson to wear on his baptism day. That was my mom’s older brother, my Uncle Jim. Since him, over 25 babies in three different generations of our family have worn it on their baptism day. I love the story behind this gown and I love that my children can share in the story. When I dress Sam on the morning of such a special day in his life, I'll be thinking about my grandmother, mom, sister, and many aunts that did the very same thing. Thinking about what this day will mean for him and thinking that so many that I love became a Christian in the very same gown.

Thank goodness for the iPhone

I had to take Jack to the doctor today, and while we waited for Dr. Trey to come in, we played with my iPhone.  He’s so fun!And it turns out he has croup.  Thankfully, he doesn’t seem to notice.

Easter Egg Hunt

Price had us over for an Easter egg hunt-thank you, Price!  I just love egg hunts, and I wish I would have taken more pictures of all those sweet babies running around! Katherine did a great job,and Andrew was as cute as can be,but our boy was only interested in Price’s toys.  He did not hunt one single egg!When we got home, I took more pictures.  I’m crazy, I know.  And I’m also thankful for digital photography!  My heart feels like it could just explode when I look at these two! And in case you didn’t know, Jack would like to tell you that he’s two!
