Another boat trip

We headed down to Charleston today to spend the day with my family and celebrate Father’s Day with my dad!  Mom had to work, we missed you!!, but the rest of us headed out for a ride on the water.These babies love their grandpa!  How could they help but?!Jack played hard the majority of the ride, but he fell asleep about 15 minutes before we docked-with an animal cracker in hand!  We still had to get a picture of daddy and his kids, though! Thanks for a fun boat ride, brother!  We can’t wait to be with you all again soon!

Sixteen Months Old

So, my little boy, you’re sixteen months old, and we love you, love you, love you! You are so funny right now, and you make us smile all the time! You smile for us very easily as well, and we’re so thankful that you’re so happy!You’re sixteen month birthday was also Father’s Day, so we went on the boat for a couple hours with the Thomas’ to celebrate! This was your first time out this year, and you did a pretty good job! You tolerated the life jacket better than I thought you would, and-as is typical-you wanted to explore everything! You helped daddy drive the boat, and you honked the horn a time or two!You still love to be outside, but with these southern summer days, we’ve had to be choosy about when we brave the heat. Being on the lake was no exception, so we tried to keep you entertained in the shade as much as we could-a snack of goldfish, and mission accomplished!You’re really talking a lot, and we love all your new words! You still know what you’re saying more than we do, but it’s been so neat to figure out what you mean, and we’re catching on more and more each day! This month you did pick up “no way” from day school, so we’re working on that, but we’re also working on your manners-you can say please, and it’s the cutest thing! You’re other new words are cookie, cracker, water, happy, and amen, and some favorites are still uh-oh, wow, mamma, dada, night night, bye bye, glasses, and ball.

 

During your fifteenth month, we also announced that you’re going to be a big brother! We could not be more excited that our family is growing and that you will have a sibling! We can’t wait to watch you teach him/her everything you know!We love you more than words can say, sweet boy! You are our heart, and you make us so proud! We love you!

Our Weekend at the Lake

The Estes' invited us to the lake for the weekend, and they didn't have to ask twice! We packed our bags {for three this time!}, loaded up all the baby gear, and headed out. We enjoyed a BBQ dinner and then headed to the house to relax for the night.

Saturday morning began with some play time inside, a nap for Jack, and pool time for Eva. Already sporting the accessories at two and a half-I love that girl! The Goddards arrived and we headed out for a boat ride-it was Noah's First! The weather was actually quite nice, so we all enjoyed the nice lake breeze. We docked, the boys lounged in the lake, and the babies played on the deck in the baby pool--well two out of three. Jack napped again. We realized that the pack and play is now too small for our long boy, but he did a pretty good job making do. Eva loves to hold Baby Jack, and she does a great job! If he's awake-or even if he's not!-she asks to hold him, and he's just as content as can be in her little arms! He loves his god-sister! Our three sweet babies. Mark and I are so thankful to have such wonderful friends and meaningful friendships. Who would have thought way back when we were roommates and suitemates in college that we were also going to be able to raise our babies together?!? What a blessing! We had a very relaxing weekend and look forward to many more like it! Thanks again MB, Joey, and Eva!!

It's Lake Season!

We woke up to a beautiful morning today, and decided it was the perfect day to take Jack on his first boat ride! So we packed a bag and headed to Lake Murray for our first lake adventure of the season.

We tried his life vest on him, and it was as big as he is!! He wasn't much of a fan!Take it off, and there's a little grin!He learned all about how to drive the boat from his daddy,and how to enjoy the ride from his mommy!The beautiful breeze and the rocking waves put him right to sleep, and of course I loved that it was in my arms!It was a shorter trip than most days on the lake,mommy didn't pack very well, but Jack did great and seemed to enjoy it-we sure did! We look forward to many more adventures together as a family!
