Gooo Gamecocks!!

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Last night our very own Alma Mater won the National Championship in Baseball-our first major championship!!  We’ve been staying up late cheering them on in the College World Series, and last night they beat UCLA 2-1 to take the series and become National Champions!

To welcome our Gamecocks home from Omaha, the University put on a huge pep rally-it felt so good to be a Gamecock!

imageWho knows-maybe these three will be on another National Championship team!  image Here’s what Jack thought of all the excitement-

Another boat trip

Saturday, June 26, 2010

We headed down to Charleston today to spend the day with my family and celebrate Father’s Day with my dad!  Mom had to work, we missed you!!, but the rest of us headed out for a ride on the water.imageThese babies love their grandpa!  How could they help but?!imageimageimageimageimageJack played hard the majority of the ride, but he fell asleep about 15 minutes before we docked-with an animal cracker in hand!  We still had to get a picture of daddy and his kids, though!image Thanks for a fun boat ride, brother!  We can’t wait to be with you all again soon!

First day of Summer!

Happy first day of Summer!  Jack thought today would be the perfect day to show us his new t-ball skills!  I love it!

Sixteen Months Old

Sunday, June 20, 2010

So, my little boy, you’re sixteen months old, and we love you, love you, love you! You are so funny right now, and you make us smile all the time! You smile for us very easily as well, and we’re so thankful that you’re so happy!imageYou’re sixteen month birthday was also Father’s Day, so we went on the boat for a couple hours with the Thomas’ to celebrate! This was your first time out this year, and you did a pretty good job! You tolerated the life jacket better than I thought you would, and-as is typical-you wanted to explore everything! You helped daddy drive the boat, and you honked the horn a time or two!imageYou still love to be outside, but with these southern summer days, we’ve had to be choosy about when we brave the heat. Being on the lake was no exception, so we tried to keep you entertained in the shade as much as we could-a snack of goldfish, and mission accomplished!imageYou’re really talking a lot, and we love all your new words! You still know what you’re saying more than we do, but it’s been so neat to figure out what you mean, and we’re catching on more and more each day! This month you did pick up “no way” from day school, so we’re working on that, but we’re also working on your manners-you can say please, and it’s the cutest thing! You’re other new words are cookie, cracker, water, happy, and amen, and some favorites are still uh-oh, wow, mamma, dada, night night, bye bye, glasses, and ball.

During your fifteenth month, we also announced that you’re going to be a big brother! We could not be more excited that our family is growing and that you will have a sibling! We can’t wait to watch you teach him/her everything you know!imageWe love you more than words can say, sweet boy! You are our heart, and you make us so proud!image We love you!

Big News!!

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Jack has some big news he’s excited to finally share!  He’s going to be a BIG brother!  And we happen to think that our new baby couldn’t ask for a better one! :)  We’re so thankful that God chose to bless us with another baby and Jack with a sibling!

imageWe are all thrilled and look forward to welcoming Baby Thomas number two around December 18th!  I’m 13 weeks along and very thankful to be feeling really good at this point!  We even got an early peek at this sweet one, so that was a nice surprise!  Here he/she is at 11 weeks, 3 days!!  Wow!  What a miracle!image And along the he/she lines, people are already asking-yes, we’re doing the same thing we did with Jack.  Mark will be the only one to know the gender until we meet our sweet baby in December!  We were so thankful to see a strong heartbeat and confirm that all looks healthy and on track, and that’s what we’ll continue to pray for!

Oh, and if you go back to this post, that was the day we found out!  The trip to Target was for a plain white t-shirt, and the sewing I did was making the Big Brother shirt so Jack could tell Mark when he got home from the Masters!  I’ll never forget the many wonderful moments of that particular Masters Sunday!

Supper Club-kiddie style

We had Supper Club tonight with our group from church, but this time the kids were invited!  It was so fun to watch them all play together-but no pictures of that because we were busy playing too!  We missed those who couldn’t make it, but we got a good picture of the babies that did!DSC03950 Anna and Hane, Lauren and Jamison, Courtney and Gussie, Clark and Katherine, Kenzie and Mary Mac, me and my sweet boy, Haley and Jack and Grace.

We also celebrated Laura’s birthday!!  Happy Birthday!  We’re happy to have shared your special night!DSC03947

Thanks for hosting us, Clark, JP, and Katherine!!  We love our group!

Just playing

Monday, June 14, 2010

Tonight before bed, we played in Jack’s room, and he had fun with his blocks!  You don’t see any block towers because as soon as we build them, he knocks them down!imageimage Then we cleaned up the blocks, image and started moving-and climbing in!-baskets!imageimagePlay time is such fun with this t-tiny baby!image

We’re back!

Friday, June 11, 2010

Jack and I are home!  He was a great little flyer, and we had a great time, but I did a terrible job taking pictures!  I know Lindsey will do some really cute posts, so check her blog over the next few days for some fun pictures!

The best part of our trip was spending time with Grandma and Grandpa-they’re so special to me, and aren’t they cute!  They’ll be married 60 years in August!  Our time together always seems to fly by, but while we’re there, I love every minute of it!imageWe had so much fun with Grandma, Aunt Lindsey, and Kendall, too!  The babies looked too cute in they’re matching outfits!  Again-where was my camera!?!? imageimageimageWhen Mark picked us up from the airport, Jack saw him on the other side of security waiving.  I put Jack down and he ran straight to his daddy’s arms! It was the cutest thing!!  We’re looking forward to a fun family weekend-the gang is all back together now!

Our Saturday

Saturday, June 5, 2010

We had such a great day today, but my camera battery was dead, so no pictures of the fun!

We went to Lizard’s Thicket for breakfast, ran a handful of errands, and then got Jack’s hair cut! He’s already growing so fast, and his haircut just makes him look older! He hated it the entire time-again! We did get these cute pictures on our cell phones.

Later in the afternoon we headed to EdVenture to celebrate Noah’s third birthday! We totally expected Jack run all over the place like he did on Monday, but the party was during his afternoon nap-and he’s teething-so he tuckered out pretty quickly. We still had a great time celebrating with Noah! All the kids started the party with a musical parade!

We ended the day by packing our suitcases-Jack and I are headed to Michigan tomorrow morning! We’ll miss Mark more than words can say, but we’re SO excited to see our family in Grand Rapids!

Oh, and this is his new face! When we ask him to do his surprise face, he used to do it. Now, this is what we get! Silly boy!2
