To Grandmother's House We Go!

Sunday, May 31, 2009

What a fun Saturday! Mark went hunting with Joey, so Jack and I headed to Charleston to spend the night with my parents. I was worried about not bringing any toys for Jack to play with, but who am I kidding-he was never out of someone's arms!

After we arrived, we had lunch and then mom, Linds, and I headed to Mt. Pleasant to shop a little.

When we got home, he played with Aunt Linds and showed her how he can stand up,loved on Aunt Debbie, and laughed for his grandpa! Then we all went out for dinner, and Jack was such a good boy! He talked to us for a little bit, then I swaddled him up, and he took a little cat nap.

I can't believe it, but this is the first picture I have with my siblings and Jack. We'll be adding a new little one to this picture before we know it!Congratulations on your acceptance into golf school, Uncle Adam! We know you'll do great! We missed you, Mark, but we're glad you had so much fun, and that you came home safely!! This morning we had jammy time on the back porch, and Jack was LOVING his grandma-can you tell?! They played Pat-a-Cake-Jack's first time-and he was getting a kick out of it! Actually, we all were! Thanks for letting us spend the weekend with you guys! We hope to see you all again real soon!!

Love, Jack and Michelle

Profile-Then and Now

Can you see the similarities? I think that sweet little nose and sweet cheeks are pretty evident in the ultrasound pictures, and I could kiss them both all day long!

Jack's Two New Favorites

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

His hands in his mouth, and standing up! And of course he still loves his daddy-that's who he's smiling for! When he locks his knees, he gets the cutest look of concentration on his face, looks all around, and then gives us a smile!
And please excuse the outfit-it's not really that short, but he is a long boy, so this may be the last wear for this one!

Happy Memorial Day!

Good Friends

Saturday, May 23, 2009

Amy H invited us over for a Memorial Day weekend get together tonight, and we had a great time! We are so thankful to be surrounded by many wonderful friends who love our boy! I missed a lot of great pictures-Sam Walker and John Lewis were having a great time!!-but I did get a few cute ones!

Eva-bug was at home with her Uncle Justin, so MB got some snuggles in with her godson!Noah was at home with his grandparents, so Laura was able to love on Jack too! This was right before Jack fell asleep in Meredith's arms. She has the touch-Jack loves Mere Mere! And sweet Baby Kate came too! She is three weeks old-born on my birthday!- and has the sweetest head of hair! Isn't she the cutest? Thanks again, Amy! We had a great time and look forward to more just like it!

I love you, daddy!

Three Months Old

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Yep, it's official! Time just keeps flying by-and faster than it did before we were parents! Look, Jack can't believe it either! So after his third month, he continues to be the sweetest thing we could imagine! He is so happy and rarely cries. When he does, we know what he wants and can soothe him easily. He's so much more than we could have asked for! He's so laid back and just goes with the flow! He rolls from tummy to back, but still doesn't love tummy time. If he doesn't want to rollover, he'll let you know that tummy time is over! He is still doing a great job nursing and is like a little alarm clock at meal time-I mean look at those sweet rolls! He loves when we talk to him and read to him, and he coos right back. He has a lot to say, and we love to listen! He loves, loves his daddy and continues to laugh for him-he's only laughed for me a hand full of times, but I keep trying! He's still very generous with those big smiles, and we love it! He likes to stand up and sit up, so we tried the Bumbo seat today. "What is this, mommy??""Oh, it's my fun new chair!"At 9 weeks, he dropped his 10pm feeding, so he now sleeps from 8:15 or 8:30pm to 7am. We are so thankful for our great sleeper! He still likes to be swaddled up to sleep, but some of his naps are unswaddled with his arms above his head, just like in his ultrasound pictures!

Jack,

These past three months have been the most wonderful gift for your daddy and me. We've learned so much about you and each other, and we love, love our new little family! You have added so much to our everyday and are a total joy! I love you, and your eyes, toes, nose, lips, cheeks, face-I love you Jack-a-Roo! We are so thankful that you are such a healthy, happy boy!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Jack's Morning

Sunday, May 17, 2009

Jack is really interacting with us a lot, so we have so much fun playing with him when he wakes up in the morning!  After he nurses, he loves to talk to his daddy and smile at him. This momma LOVES to see her two favorite guys having such a great time together!
After that, he has play time on his exercise mat for a little bit, and then he's ready for his morning nap.  But when you look at this sweet face, it's hard to put him down!

AT&T Sponsorship on the Way!

Thursday, May 14, 2009

When Jack was first born, I made sure that he nursed for a certain amount of time, and Mark termed this Jack's 'milky minutes'. Well he's added to that, and now that we're practicing rolling over, we have 'rollover minutes'! Tonight, we made advancements in both!

Jack decided to help his daddy with his 7pm feeding by {kind of} holding his bottle by himself!
And before bath time, he did it!! He was having some more 'rollover minutes', and he figured it out!! We were so happy that we were both there to watch him rollover for the first time!! Oh, and please disregard the excited mommy voice!

Jack-a-Roo, we're so proud of you!! But please don't grow up too fast! This mommy is loving every minute with you!!

Sew Fun!

Yep, cheesy title again, but it fits! I love my sewing machine and I LOVE to see what I can do with it.

Now that I've been sewing, I look at how things are made to see if I can make them. Take my favorite burp cloths for instance-given to Jack by MW and Matt {thanks again!}.I bought some burp cloths at Target, and some fabric and rick rack from the sewing center, and here you go! I wish I could have found smaller rick rack, but hey, it's used to wipe up baby drool, right?!Lillian had a great idea to use an old Lilly dress to make a cute burp cloth. I'm going to cut up some old Lilly pants and do the same thing! Thanks for the idea, Lillian!

I made two new bubbles for my boy,
monogrammed some towels for my mom, and monogrammed some bloomers for Reece. Like I said, I'm having sew much fun! :) Amy, thanks for getting me started!

Guess What?!?!?!

This isn't the only baby she'll be holding come December!!
She's pregnant!!!! Congratulations seester and Ryan! You guys are going to make wonderful parents, and we're so excited to be able to share this amazing experience with you! We'll be praying for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby! Our niece/nephew is so cute already! We love you!
Mark, Michelle, and Jack

Welcome, Hunter William!

Baby Hunter arrived earlier this afternoon at 12:12, weighed six pounds, two ounces, and was 19 inches long! Mom, Dad, and baby are doing great!!
Hunter, your mommy and daddy have waited for you for a long time, and I'm sure they would say that you were worth the wait! You are so loved already, and there are so many "Aunts" that can't wait to meet you!! Jack said he can't wait for a play date! Oh, and he DID roll over to celebrate! {Post to follow!} CONGRATULATIONS Erica and Kris and the Branstrom and Davis families!

Almost there!

He's trying hard to roll over, and he's almost there! He's done it a number of times propped up on Mark's chest, so he knows what he wants to do.I think he's waiting to hear the good news of Baby Hunter's safe arrival, and then he'll roll over to celebrate! Say a quick prayer for the Davis'-they're in the hospital now!!

Happy Birthday, Mama!

We hope you have a WONDERFUL day full of hugs and kisses, mommy!! We send tons your way!
And thanks for being SO good to our boy! Thanks for loving him so much-he loves you right back!Happy Birthday!! We love you!

Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Growing up, I learned so much about what it means to be a mommy from our mommy, and our two grandmas. They are all such great examples of how to love and nurture, and I hope that I'll be that same kind of mommy to Jack. Happy Mother's Day mommy and grandma!

Mrs. Thomas, Happy Mother's Day to you, too! We hope you're having a great time in Italy!Celebrating my first Mother's Day as a mom was truly wonderful! Sometimes I still can't grasp the fact that I am actually his mom. This is something I've hoped for and prayed for for as long as I can remember, and to look at him and know that he'll call me mommy takes my breath away. I don't know what I did to deserve him.
I look at this sweet boy and count my blessings every day that I was chosen to be his mommy!
Jack wants to wish a Happy Mother's Day to his godmother, too! He loves you, MB!
