Love, Jack
We had so much fun at the Pumpkin Patch the first time we went, we just had to go again! Jack and I met Emory, Watson, Amy, Callie and Erin for a picnic lunch and a fun time playing with the pumpkins! Jack crawled around trying to put everything in his mouth, Callie showed us her new walking skills, and Emory had a great time running around, counting and sitting on the pumpkins! Watson was snuggled up with mommy in true baby fashion, and I’m sure he had a great time too! It was a beautiful day, and we’re so glad we have such a great place to play with such fun friends! We sure are enjoying Jack’s first Fall!
This is Emory telling Jack not to eat the pumpkin! Thanks, Em! Emory just made a mask at school, and she had us all ‘scared’!! Emory-2, Callie-1, Jack-8 months, Watson-6 weeks
Thanks for such a fun play date, girls!
God saw it fit to give me a wonderful husband who loves being a daddy and a beautiful baby who is our pride and joy. I just love watching them play, and I don't know if it can get much better than this!
Jack continues to be a great eater so we continue to try new things. He loves mashed bananas, so today instead of mashing it all, I cut some little pieces and put them on his tray to see what he thought. He did a great job, and before I knew it, I was cutting up more pieces!
Another fun Fall event! We went to Boo at the Zoo with the Estes’ and the Goddards and had such a great time! This is definitely something Jack will enjoy when he’s older, but I think he had fun this year as well! Since Jack very rarely takes a bottle at home, this was a new trick for us to see-big boy! We stopped to feed him his dinner and then handed him his bottle as we continued to stroll. We had a great night with great friends!
We went to the Pumpkin Patch today to pick out Jack’s very first pumpkin!! Fall begins my favorite time of the year, and I am SO excited to be able to share it with Jack! Mark and I have been visiting this church’s patch for years, and my heart was so happy to now be taking our little boy-I think it’s safe to say that I was looking forward to this more than Jack!
He took his search for the perfect pumpkin very seriously, and with daddy’s help, he found the perfect one! “This one mama! No, this one daddy!””Well, this one looks to be just my size!” Great choices, buddy! You sure are our little pumpkin, Jack a Roo, and we’re excited to add the Pumpkin Patch to our list of little family Fall traditions!
My sweet baby boy-happy eight month birthday! Daddy sang you your Smash Cake song this morning-you loved it!-and to think it’s only four months until you dig in is crazy! Where have these past eight months gone?! I can tell you one thing for sure-they have been eight wonderful, joyful, and fulfilling months! This past month you mastered crawling, and you can get anywhere you want to go FAST! You can get yourself to sitting from any position, and you are pulling up on anything that’s your height! One of my favorites is when I’m doing something in the kitchen and you grab my legs to pull up! Seeing that sweet face looking up at me-I love it! At one point a couple weeks ago when you learned to pull up, you didn’t yet know how to sit back down. Well, you learned that pretty quickly and can stand up and sit down very easily now. In fact, that’s one of your favorite things to do! Daddy and I are so proud of the determination and perseverance you’re showing, little guy! You’re still a really good eater which makes your mama so happy! I’m doing my best to make sure you don’t end up a picky eater like me-so far, so good! We’ve given you a big variety of fruits and vegetables, mixed and by themselves, and so far the only thing you’re not happy with is avocado. We’ve given you a few cheerios to snack on while I prepare your food, and you’re not too sure about them yet. You do a good job picking them up and putting them in your mouth, but most of the time you push them right back out with your tongue. It’s as if you’re going to keep trying to see if the next one will taste any different! You nurse every four hours-some of the sweetest times of the day for your mama! You are a great little sleeper, sweet boy! You wake up around 7:30 and go down about 7:30 with two to three naps in between. You’re starting to shorten your early morning nap and then sleep from 12:30 to 2:30 and 4 or 4:30 to 6ish. You’re usually awake when we put you down, so we have fun watching you on the monitor-you stand up and sit down over and over, you pull your froggy and blanket down to cuddle with, and sometimes you reach for the toys on your mobile. But after a bit, you curl up and fall asleep. You’re a Baby Wise baby! So, sweet thing, that’s what you were up to in your seventh month! I don’t want to forget anything about your babyhood-you’ve been nothing but a most wonderful gift from God! I will kiss you and cuddle you and take in your sweet babyness every chance I have. I don’t take you for granted and I pray over you each night-for your health, your heart, and even for your wife! You’re the perfect little fit for your daddy and me, and we love you more than words can say!
Love,
Daddy and Mommy
It just keeps getting better! Each day you do something new-make a new face, learn something new, try something new-and being your mama just keeps getting better, and more fun! When we put you to sleep each night, I can’t imagine loving you more when I see you again in the morning, but when I see those little eyes light up at the sight of your daddy and me, I do! Your mama loves you more than I’ll ever be able to tell you, sweet boy, but I hope and pray that I’ll always do my best to show you!And even though you’re growing up before our eyes, the book is so true-“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, and as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be!”
Love,
Mama
