Ten Months Old

Sunday, December 20, 2009

My sweet boy-you’re ten months old today! Wow! We are now down to single digits in your smash cake song-9 more weeks ‘til smash cake!-and I can’t believe it!imageYou continue to be the sweetest and happiest baby we know, and we love your little personality! You’re making new sounds and faces all the time-here’s a picture of one of your favorites. “Oh!” You also say “wow” and are starting to say “ball”.imageOne of the biggest developments in your ninth month was the appearance of your first tooth! You’ve really handled teething like a champ so far, but you do know how to let us know you need some Tylenol. Once it takes effect, you’re back to being all smiles. Sorry that the first picture of your first tooth is a sad one! :( I’ll keep working on a big, open mouth smiley one!imageimageYou love to look at the lights on the Christmas trees, but for the most part you’ve ignored them. If we play in the front room long enough, though, you’ll reach for an ornament and, yep, try to eat it! We’re going to make your first ornament this week, and I’m so excited! I can’t wait for our tree to be filled with all your little creations!imageimageimageYou’ve shifted your schedule this past month, and are now eating breakfast, lunch, a snack, and dinner. You wake up around 7:30 and nurse. You eat breakfast around 8:30, nap from 9:30 to 11:30, lunch at noon, nap from 2:00 to 4:00, snack when you wake up, dinner between 6:00 and 6:30, nurse after dinner, and then bedtime at 8:00.imageThe other big development this month-you’ve decided you’re too big for a bottle! I picked you up from church on Thursday, and they told me that you drank your milk from your sippy cup instead of your bottle! No bottles since! You’re showing us each day what a big boy you’re becoming!imageYou’ve moved from pureed food to table food with the exception of breakfast. You still eat rice cereal mixed with fruit some mornings. You’ve had a variety of table food so far-mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, blueberry pancakes, waffles, peas, broccoli, carrots, green beans, lasagna, cheese, scrambled eggs, and hotdogs to name a few. It seems that you have your daddy’s taste buds so far, so we’re thankful for that!imageWe were at Eva’s new house Thursday night and you were ready to go to bed. She told me that you could sleep in her baby’s cradle because you’re “just a teeny, tiny baby.” That’s what I like to think, too, Eva bug, but my teeny, tiny baby is growing right before our eyes! You’re pulling up on everything and standing by yourself for a few seconds, so I know you’ll be up and walking shortly. I’m going to snuggle you and kiss your sweet little baby face every chance I get! I want to remember all of this!imageYou’ve started to clap a lot, wave hello, and you still love to play peek-a-boo, all with the biggest smile on your face. You've also started dancing any time you hear music-it's too cute! You love to chase us and be chased, which is sure to get a laugh, and you really like to play with your Carolina basketball. Your daddy and I have so much fun with you and have loved every minute of your past nine months!imageDuring this time of year when we’re all extra mindful of the blessing of family, your daddy and I are so thankful that you’re a part of ours! We love you to the moon and back sweet thing!

Love,
Daddy and Mommy
