Our verse
This is our family verse for the school year. We talk about what it means all the time, and both boys have already memorized it! Oh, LORD, hide your words in their heart and let them be a light in the world for you! Thanks to my cousin, Lisi, for making it so gorgeous! Check out her Etsy shop, Loulee, if you’re interested!
First lemonade stand!
Sunday, September 28, 2014
After church, Mark and Jack went and gathered the goodies for the boys’ first lemonade stand! They set it up, Jack made the sign, and he was open for business! Sam was still napping when Jack got started, but when he woke up and saw it, his eyes were as big as saucers! They both loved it-and so did Mark and I! They raised $37.62 for St. Lawrence Place!

First stitches
Tuesday, September 16, 2014
So, we just had our first broken bone-now we have our first stitches! Sam fell on the playground at school and cut his head just above his eyebrow pretty bad. I took him to Dr. Trey, and two hours and twenty minutes later, we were out of there with three stitches. It was AWFUL!! They gave him litocane to numb him, and that scared him like crazy! He was papoosed down so he couldn’t use his arms and he was watching as Dr. Trey came at him with a needle and scissors. Oh, it was bad! He started crying out for Mark (who was at work) when I wasn’t picking him up. When that didn’t work, he started calling out for Jack (“Jacky, help me!”), and that REALLY broke my heart! I was rubbing his legs and kissing his hands and telling him that I was right there and so proud of him, but he was terrified. And that was hard. I wish I could’ve spared him from that! But It’s over, praise God, and he’s smiling. And Mark’s going on Sunday when he has to have them removed!
Ten Months Old!
Monday, September 15, 2014
No way, no way! I say the same thing each month, but it’s true-you are such a doll baby and a delight! You’re so happy and laid back and fun, and just amazing! We just can’t believe you’re ours. Oh, we’re so grateful! You were exactly who we were waiting for in our family, and God knew that! His plans are ALWAYS better than ours! You say mama and dada on purpose. If daddy walks in the room, you squeal and crawl to him saying, “dadadada!” Melts him into the biggest puddle every time! Me, too! ^^^Look at this face! Not one you make much, but it cracks me up that I got a picture. You’re so funny! You got two teeth this past month and they’re so cute and teeny. But they’re sharp! You bit me a couple times!Your sleep schedule is still the same, with two naps a day. You’re fine if we skip the morning nap to run errands. You’ll just fall asleep in your carrier. So thankful for your easy going nature! You nurse in the morning when you wake, at lunch, and at bedtime. Love that. Still in a size two diaper and anywhere from six to twelve month clothes.Your brothers still make you light up-by doing anything really! They always entertain you, bring you things, giggle at you-and you giggle right back! They were my photo shoot helpers-also where you kept crawling! You are the best eater! There’s nothing you won’t eat. You’re on all table foods-no more pureed foods-and you love it. You do great picking food up and feeding yourself. You’re doing really great with your sippy cup, too!Sweet, sweet pea, we love you! You are fearfully and wonderfully made by our amazing Creator, and we are so thankful He gave you to our family! We love you more than words can say!!
First broken bone
Friday, September 12, 2014
Jack broke his pinky playing soccer at school. He said he called a handball (is that a thing?) so he could catch it, and clearly caught it wrong. The thing is, he didn’t tell anyone! Not his teacher, and not me! We were wrestling when he got home and he bumped his hand on my shoulder. He started crying, and obviously that was out of the ordinary. Only then he told me his finger hurt. One look at it and I knew it wasn’t normal. So here we are-our first cast! We get it off in three weeks!
