Our little ham!
Tuesday, March 30, 2010
I was taking some pictures of Jack for our Easter card this morning, and he was being such a little ham! He has never paid much attention to his Easter bunny, but I think he knew we were taking Easter pictures, so he went over to his bookshelf, grabbed the bunny, and started snuggling it-just so I could get a sweet picture, I know!I think he was totally tricking me though, because he wrestled with the bunny right after these were taken! I can't wait to post some more after Easter!
The Zoo!
Saturday, March 27, 2010
What a beautiful day we had today-perfect weather for the Zoo! After Jack’s morning nap and lunch, we packed the stroller and headed out to see the animals. Most of them were outside, and we even got to see a zoo keeper feed the lions!
We took turns pointing out all the different animals to Jack, and he got so excited! He really liked the goats and the giraffes. He made friends with the his-size elephants and tried to make friends with the gorillas, but the gorillas wanted nothing to do with any of the visitors today! They sat with their backs against the glass and barely moved as child after child patted the glass trying to say hello! We let Jack walk around some, and I think he really liked it! He stopped a few times to say hello to fellow Zoo patrons-I love that he’s so friendly! This was definitely the best trip to the Zoo yet! He seemed to be excited about the animals, he oohed and ahhed, and he had a smile on his face! We look forward to many more zoo trips and are so thankful that it’s right in our back yard!
Jen’s Baby Shower
Monday, March 22, 2010
Stefanie, Laura, Erica and I hosted a baby shower for Jen on Sunday, and we had a great time with great friends! Jen and Jim received lots of pretty pink for their little girl and the nursery is all set-so now all they need is Miss Madeline! We’re all so excited for them and can’t wait to meet the newest member of our group of friends!I missed pictures of all the guests and some of the other flowers and decorations, but I did get a few. Sweet baby Jenny! The mommy to be with her sweet mom, and with her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Amelia. Madeline will be surrounded by so many strong women that love her so much!We love you so much already, Miss Madeline! Thanks for staying put for the shower, but now you can come any time! All your Aunts are so excited!
Thirteen Months Old
Saturday, March 20, 2010
Happy Thirteen Month Birthday, sweet boy! You continue to be H-A-P-P-Y and the most precious baby ever! We simply can’t get enough of your sweet cuddles, albeit short cuddles, your new words, and your adventurous little ways! You give us that toothy grin so generously, and your blue eyes sparkle every time! But those little teeth-they’re giving you a bit of a fit right now. You still only have four, but daddy and I are guessing that you’ll have a mouth full very shortly!Your schedule hasn’t changed-wake at 7 and eat breakfast, nap from 9:30 to 11:30, wake for lunch, nap from 2 to 4, small snack, dinner at 5:30, and bed time between 7 and 7:30. We stopped nursing this past month, and that was a non-event for you too. You’ve really been good at adapting to change, and we’re so proud of you sweet boy! You’ve been showing us that you really understand what we’re saying to you, and you’ve been trying more and more to use your words. You say a lot, but the words you have down pat are mama, dada, that, wow, ball, oh, and bang. Yep, you’re all boy! :) You’re definitely Mr. Curious right now. You don’t really play with any of your toys. You’d rather hold the remote, your brush, a book, a paper towel roll, a spoon, etc., and try to figure out how it works. Whatever you have, you’ll carry it around while you’re exploring everything else-until you find the next non-toy that looks interesting! As for meal time, you’re still a great eater. Veggies and bananas are your favorites, and you still don’t like anything with marinara sauce. Mommy and Daddy are big on Italian food, so I’m sure you’ll come around! You’re a really good walking partner, you love your stroller! And I promise I’ll turn you around so you can face the world soon. Mommy’s being a little selfish keeping you facing me. I just love to see those sweet eyes looking my way! And your daddy-boy do you love your daddy!! We were playing outside, and your little face just lit up when you saw him come home from work! This middle picture says it all! I love that he brightens your day just like he does mine! I’ve wanted to be a mamma for as long as I can remember, but the reality of the past 13 months has far surpassed anything I could have dreamed! Thank you for all the joy you’ve brought to our lives, little one! You have been a true gift!
We love you more than words can say!

Happy Spring!
Friday, March 19, 2010
What a beautiful day we had to kick off this new season!! Jack had a slight fever from teething when I got him from church yesterday, so he and I had a play day at home! The weather was as nice as can be, so we went for a walk, visited the girls at work, did some errands, and enjoyed lots of play time outside!
Here, Jack is showing me just how big he is-he’s still just t-tiny to me! :)
We hope you had a great day too!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

I know the picture on the left is out of focus, but man I love to see that sweet face running in my direction with open arms! And look at that funny face on the right! “Mom, can you PLEASE stop taking my picture?” Ha! I love you little guy!
I’m so happy with my sewing machine!
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
I’m so happy with my sewing machine because I love to see my boy in mommy-made clothes! They’re never perfect, but they’re always made with love, and the possibilities are endless!
Even more, I just LOVE my little boy and I love being his mamma! He is wonderful-simply wonderful! Thank you God!Jack, one of the main reasons for this online journal is for you. I hope that you’ll read this one day and get a sense of just how much your daddy and your mommy love you! You already make us so proud and bring us so much joy-it’s unbelievable really! You’re the best, little one!!Mr. {sometimes} Independent

We’ve been showing Jack how to feed himself with a spoon, and he’s got the idea figured out! He seems to love doing it himself, but of course he’s still our little baby and lets us feed him most of the time! And he got ice cream for dessert tonight-yum!

By the way, he wasn’t filthy-the milk bath that we use makes the water cloudy!

Tooth number four! It’s the top left of his two front teeth. Numbers five and six aren’t far behind!
