Well here it is! After all the build up and one way too small go at it, Jack got his bicycle-bell on the handlebars and all! Right now he pretty much just sits on it and plays, but I’m sure he’ll be pedaling up and down the driveway before too long! And the faucet. It caught his eye when we were playing outside, and he thought we should turn it on so he could take a bath! :)
Just us
Mark and I dropped the boys off with my parents, and Aunt Linds and Kendall!!, Saturday afternoon and headed to Wild Dunes for the night. We missed our sweet boys like crazy, but it was really good to have some us time. I sure love spending time with my man! Mom, Dad, Linds, and Kendall-Thanks for taking such great care of our boys! I know they had a great time, too!

Jack’s Airplane Party-the details
Jack will stop what he’s doing and look up in the sky if he hears an airplane, so when I was thinking about his second birthday, I thought an airplane party would be perfect and I went with it. Here’s a look at how it turned out. Jack had a great time, so as far as I’m concerned, mission accomplished! We hung our family birthday banner the week of his birthday. He recognizes it now, and that makes me so happy! Each guest stopped by Baggage Claim before going home and picked up a personalized luggage tag and a little wooden airplane. We were so happy to have them all to celebrate with us!Next up, all those sweet faces that boarded Jack’s birthday flight!

Two Year and Two Month Well Checks
First up, Jack.
It’s funny. The handout from Dr. Trey about the two year visit called it a Health Maintenance visit. And that’s pretty much what it was-not much new. He’s meeting or exceeding his milestones and is overall healthy and growing. He was wheezing when Dr. Trey listened to his chest, so we’re doing a breathing treatment until Friday.
Weight: 27 pounds, 2 ounces, 40th percentile
Height: 35 and 3/4 inches, 75th percentile
And now Sam.
He did great, too! He’s definitely eating well and is healthy and growing, too! We are so thankful for two healthy babies! He received an oral vaccine and a shot in each leg and did a great job! He did one of those silent cries, let out a big scream, and then he was done. Good job, sweet boy!
Weight: 15 pounds 6 ounces, 90th percentile
Height: 26 and 1/4 inches, off the charts!
Head circumference: 17 inches, 60th percentile
Jack’s second year-one month at a time
A few moments from our first born’s second year. Oh how I loved each one!I was looking through the pictures from his birthday after he went to bed, and this is the one that made me cry. Mostly tears of joy. I’m so thankful he’s ours, I’m so thankful he’s healthy, and I’m so thankful he kisses me and calls me mommy. This is the perfect picture of who he is right now-all boy-and I love every bit of him. Here’s to another wonderful year, buddy!
We have a two-year-old!
Sunday, February 20, 2011
Happy, happy birthday to my most favorite two-year-old! I can’t believe you’re two years old today, my t-tiny! How did that happen!? You woke up to a cinnamon roll breakfast complete with birthday candles, and after church, you got your bicycle!!Even though you seem very excited to have it, I have to admit that I must be trying my best to keep you tiny-it’s obviously too small for you! Don’t worry, we’ll find one more fitting this weekend! After nap time and opening some gifts, we played outside some more. I love that you’re doing your best to make the tiny bicycle work! We’re celebrating your birthday at school tomorrow, so we headed inside to make cupcakes, and your family birthday cake, together. Mommy loved this!! I hope you’ll always have fun in the kitchen with me! Sam was there, too! And I let you have a lick of the batter-that’s my boy! Back outside to ride the bicycle, and after dinner, birthday cake!! You loved hearing ‘Happy Birthday’ sung to you-every time! Seeing the smile on your face made me want to sing it non stop! This was not intended to be a smash cake, but you were enjoying it so much that we didn’t stop you. It’s only your birthday once a year, right!? And you were clearly only out for the icing!Sweet boy, you’re growing up so fast, and I know I can’t do anything about it, so I’m going to soak up every moment. You’re so sweet, funny, and loving but also a new two year old. You’ve decided to try the whine-and-fuss-until-you-get-your-way game. Hopefully you’ll soon learn that that doesn’t get you anywhere. Most of the time you have a smile on your face and are running around playing, checking on Sam, and just being the most fun little boy! I pray that you remain healthy and growing (slowly!) and have a year full of fun with our family and your sweet little friends! Daddy and I are so proud of you, two year old!!, and we love you more than you know! Happy, happy birthday little one!!
