Saturday Visitors

Saturday, April 10, 2010

What a great Saturday! After Jack’s morning nap, we ran to Publix to get subs for lunch-we were expecting lots of company, and Jack was so excited! Can’t you tell from these pictures?! :)imageMy dad, Linds, and Kendall came up for the day so we could take Kendall’s three month pictures, and Uncle Dan, Aunt Nancy and Peter stopped by on their way home from Spring Break! What a treat!

Kendall was too sweet, as usual, so I think we got some really good pictures of her! Here are two of my favorites-I’ll post more after Linds and Ryan get to look at them.imageShe’s such a good snuggler, and I think she really loves her aunt Michelle! I sure do love her!imageimageJack had so much fun playing with his cousin, and we had just as much fun watching them love on each other! Many fun times ahead, I tell ya!imageimageJack was checking Kendall out and thought the floor looked comfortable,image-so he joined her! imageimageWe missed seeing the Tim Wiersma girls down in Hilton Head, so I’m glad we got a little taste of our Michigan family by seeing some of the Dan Wiersma’s! Thank you Uncle Dan, Aunt Nancy, and Peter for stopping by! I’m glad you enjoyed St. Augustine, and we can’t wait to see you this summer!image image

When did my baby get so tall?!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

We were playing in the front room this morning, and Jack was having fun learning about his stroller, so I wanted to take some pictures.  I like to see what it is that he studies and watch his little mind figure out how things work!  The first thing I thought when I saw this picture-he looks so tall!  When did that happen?imageJack was 22 inches when he was born, and he’s been either off the growth chart or just above the 97th percentile in height each time we’ve seen Dr. Trey, but still!  I’m saying it’s just the pants-they’re making him look really tall, right?imageHe’s still just a teeny baby!  And it was obviously the handle bar that he was figuring out this morning! image

Our boy and his new toy

Monday, April 5, 2010

The box said this car was for 12-36 month olds. Here’s how a 13 month old drives it! :)

And please excuse the post nap hair-he slept hard after the Zoo!

Another Zoo trip!

Church is closed today for Easter Break, so that means the Day School is closed and Jack and I get a play day!!

Mark and I have learned that our boy LOVES to be outside-he says “side?”-so Jack and I met Eva and Mary Beth and Noah and Laura for some fun at the Zoo!  Slathered with 60 SPF sunscreen and sporting his boat, our little fair skinned, toe head was ready to visit with the animals!  And to think, just over a week ago, we were wearing our jackets to the Zoo!imageThose monkeys in the middle of the Zoo sure put on a good show, but today they were just lounging.  Jack still enjoyed checking them out!imageThe meerkats were all hiding in the shade, but that didn’t stop the kids from looking for them.imageThe elephants were out, and they’re always fun to see.  Jack was trying to stand on the fence like the big kids—soon enough little guy!image

Alleluia, Christ is Risen!

The Lord is Risen, indeed! Alleluia!

What a wonderful Easter Day! We had Uncle Adam and Regal, Uncle Doug, and the Estes’ over for brunch and an Egg Hunt. We had a great time!IMG_5391After church, Jack looked at his basket to see what the Easter Bunny brought. Even though we forgot to leave out carrots and water, the Easter Bunny was good to him! imageEspecially the daddy Easter Bunny! Yep, his first battery powered car! And he LOVES it! His little face just lit up when he saw it and heard the noise it makes! He actually got that before we left for church, so you can imagine that we almost couldn’t get his clothes changed-he wanted back on the car! image Then we headed outside for the Easter Egg hunt! Eva was on the move and did a great job finding the eggs!imageimageJack, well he had fun finding a few, putting them in his basket, and then taking them back out and ‘hiding’ them back on the ground!imageimageimageHe even thought it would be a good idea to find one in Eva’s Easter basket…oops! We’ll have to teach him the rules again next year!image imageimageRegal didn’t hunt eggs, he preferred fetching his ball.IMG_5505 And Jack had a great time with Regal-as long as he had his two uncles to protect him! He wasn’t a big fan when there was no glass in between them, but I’m sure he’ll learn to love that cute dog in no time! He sure knows what Regal says-he kept pointing to the door and saying, “Ruff, Ruff, Ruff!”imageimageUncle Adam and Jack had fun playing-we were so glad he was with us today! Thank you SO MUCH for making the trip, brotho! It meant a lot to us!imageimageThanks for celebrating Easter with us for the fifth year in a row, Estes’! This day has brought a Baptism to each of our families-a godson for you and a goddaughter for us! We’re so thankful to have such great friends like you, and we look forward to celebrating Anna’s arrival in a few short weeks!imageAnd just for fun-last Easter-this little bunny’s Baptism Day! What a difference a year makes!image image We hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter Day! Alleluia!

Windows Live Writer- A PSA

Saturday, April 3, 2010

A few blogs that I read have been having a tough time publishing with Blogger. If you are one of them, or even if you’re not, I encourage you to download Windows Live Writer! It will make blogging SO much easier-I promise! Click here to read about it and download it. You’ll save time and won’t have the frustration that I know I use to have when I was using Blogger to publish.

You can insert pictures straight from your desktop and move them around in your post with ease. While you’re creating your post, you see it just how it will appear on your blog-- image See what I’ve circled in red? Those are the quick controls for font size/color/style, left/right/center justifying your type, etc. In orange-those are the quick controls for inserting pictures, photo albums (a photo album is when you see my pictures fanned out-there are other display options too), videos, hyperlinks, etc.

When you’re inserting a picture or pictures, all you have to do is click on picture, from one of the places circled in orange above, find the pictures in your file-I’ve selected two at a time circled in red below-and then click ‘insert’-I’ve circled it in green below.imageAnd here they are! I have it set to where the default border is what they call Photopaper-the white border-but there are other options as well.IMG_6949 honeyIMG_7148Once you have a picture selected, the option tabs I’ve circled in red will become available. Under ‘Picture’, you can change the position of your picture, choose the border, etc., ‘Advanced’ allows you to change the size, crop, tilt the picture, etc., and ‘Effects’ allows you to change a picture to black and white, sepia, and on and on. I’ve also shown you how you can still label your posts just like in Blogger. Windows Live Writer syncs to your blog. imageTwo more really helpful features-spell check and control C/control V. You can insert a picture by copying and pasting.

Anyway-Windows Live Writer has been extremely user friendly and a very quick way to publish to Blogger with NO frustration. I hope this was helpful and I hope you’ll try it-because if you follow my blog, I probably follow yours, and I love seeing your babies sweet faces! Let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Easter weekend!

Good Friday Easter Egg dying

Friday, April 2, 2010

In anticipation of our Easter celebration, we dyed Easter eggs after dinner tonight! I was a smart mommy, and thought it best to do this for the first time outside on the grass where the dye is welcome to spill and splash!imageimage
