Tool guy

“Momma, I look like a tool guy!”

Last night,image and this afternoon!imageWe’ve been having work done to our kitchen, and Jack has loved every ‘guy’ that has come to help.  He’s been very interested in their tools, so his weekend trip to Lowe’s included the purchase of a new tool box, tape measure, baby wrench, flashlight, and new tool belt!  They’re all favorites right now!

Funny story-He took the flashlight to bed (Mark gave him his first finger puppet show, and it was awesome!), and as we were winding down he unscrewed the bottom and the batteries came out.  He told me it was ‘broke’, so I said I’d take it to daddy to have him fix it.  He said, “No mommy, you a strong, strong lady.  You can do it!”  So of course I did, and then he said, “See, I told you!  Good job!”.  How about that for some encouragement from our two-and-a-half year old!  I love our bed time talks SO MUCH!!

On the swings

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

The boys had a few firsts on the swings today!

Jack learned to pump his legs to swing himself, and he was so excited!imageSam has been in the swing before, but I think today was the first time he realized that he was actually swinging-plus he loved watching Jack! image

Gosh-something so simple made these boys so happy.  I love seeing the world through the eyes of my children.  They really do teach me so much!

Cousins are SO fun!

The Beach!

The boys and I headed home to go to the beach with grandma and grandpa for the first time this summer. (And guess what? I forgot my camera at the house!!! So, all the pictures of Sam’s first time at the beach are iPhone pictures! It didn’t let me down, though, so I’m thankful.)image image image imageWhat-first time?! I know. But we had a blast and we HAVE to go again really soon! Aunt Linds, Uncle Ryan, and Kendall came as well, so that was an extra treat!imageimageKendall loved, loved the ‘toss me high in the air’ game and kept begging her daddy for more! It did look fun!image image Sam played in the water a bit but he mostly hung out in the shade with grandpa-and ate some sand!imageJack was loving the shovel and lining shells up on grandma’s arm. image And these two big cousins-they had a blast!image image image My beach boys-we had so much fun!imageWhen we were about to go over the first bridge, this is what I saw: image Ha! Definitely the sign of a good time! Thanks, guys, for making our day at the beach so much fun!

From my phone {random}

Aren’t the apps available for our phones fun?!  Of course it would be great to have my big camera with me all the time, but since that’s just crazy, you can’t beat the iPhone and it’s apps!

When I take Sam’s tray off, he always searches in his bib pocket to find some goodies that missed his mouth.  And he sits just like Jack did-with his little legs crossed (8/30)!imageMeanwhile, Jack gets some ‘work’ done (8/30).   image

Love it, love it! If you’re on Pinterest, you know what I mean. If you’re not, sign up-you’re gonna love it! No more tearing ideas out of magazines and filing them away in your idea book-it’s all in one place online! (Who am I kidding, I’ll still do that. I’m old fashion like that.)

Jack and I did our first Pinterest project today, and it was so fun! I know you all have seen this one, but we tweaked it a bit. I hot glued the crayons to a shoe box top because I didn’t want them on my final canvas, and after seeing that blow drying the crayons was taking a bit (and Jack was loosing interest), Mark suggested I put it in the oven under the broiler. Brilliant! If I did it again, I’d move the crayons up a bit (on the shoe box top) so I don’t have that blank space on the bottom (which was the top during the process). What a fun project-and cheap piece of homemade art!image I have so many fun things ‘pinned’ and I know all of you that I follow do too! Let’s have a Pinterest day. We’ll bring food from recipes we’ve pinned and make some of the fun ideas we’ve been inspired by-we could start with Halloween?!?! Who’s in?
